Exhibition: Out of the Wood

Exhibition: Out of the Wood

Saturday 24th August

Opening hours: Saturday & Sunday 11am - 5pm

‘Out of the Wood’ at the Bleddfa Centre’s apple orchard is a contemporary sculpture exhibition bringing together 13 invited artists from Wales and England. The premise of the exhibition is a simple one – each participating artist was given a length of birch cordwood (4 feet long x 4 inches diameter) to utilize as they felt appropriate after visiting not only the exhibition site but also the source of the donated birch – the nearby Castlering Wood.

The resulting exhibition features a diverse and exciting collection of contemporary artworks by artists interested in the possibilities of making sculpture from a singular unit of wood as the start point.

The exhibition was made possible by the Knighton Tree Allotments Trust who kindly donated the birch cordwood.

Participating artists: Sonia E Barrett, Richard Brown, Sam Carvosso, Titus Davies, Geraint Edwards, Sharon Hall Shipp, Lisa Hudson. Charlie Hurcombe, Nick Lloyd, Ruth Richmond, Myra Ryan, Philippine Sowerby and Amy Sterly.
