Inspiring videos to help you paint at home still available

UPDATED MAY 2020 in response to Covid-19

A wonderful online project, led by artist Lois Hopwood, produced great work done at home during May and June.  Please click HERE to see the work made and to take inspiration from the guide videos that Lois made for participants.  We hope you might like to take them as inspiration to producing your own art work, and we'd be delighted to hear from you here at the Bleddfa Centre if you do.

If you would like to join the project online contact hello@bleddfacentre.org

This is thanks to additional Covid-19 resilience funding from the Community Foundation of Wales.

2019/20  Lunch and Learn
This project was initiated by Presteigne Festival as part of its community work.  It was planned as a series of weekly events from February to April, intended to reach older sections of the community and to provide social and learning interaction, based around visual arts. The Bleddfa Centre was the host venue, with East Radnorshire Day Centre providing minibus transport for participants who required it. It proved extremely popular, with a waiting list for each session.

Artist Lois Hopwood co-ordinated a team of workshop leaders, to cover painting, spinning, ceramics and singing.  Home-made lunches served at each session have been hugely appreciated, as has the welcoming setting of the Bleddfa Centre.

One of several complete novices said ‘I hadn’t done any painting before and was delighted to discover how much I enjoyed it.  I now have a new hobby!’

Project supported by PAVO Small Health Grants and The Oakdale Trust.
