The Big Garden Birdwatch This Weekend
Here at the Bleddfa Centre we get a lot of pleasure from seeing the birds from the office window. Keeping the feeders well supplied helps to encourage a plethora of species to the bird table. On any given day we may see a wide variety which include Robins, Nuthatches, Blackbirds, Blue tits, Great tits, Chaffinches, Gold finches and from time to time the incredibly shy Great Spotted Woodpecker. Seeing these creatures as they swoop down from the tree tops, landing with incredible accuracy and skill is a wonderful joy.
This weekend the RSPB invite you to take part in the Big Garden Birdwatch. By spending one hour counting the birds that land in your garden (or local park) you can help to monitor trends and give an idea of how our feathered friends are currently doing. It's really simple to take part and extremely important to help gain an understanding of which species currently need the most help.
